Course Overview

The purpose of this programme is to strengthen resilience in individuals.

The programme places personal resilience in the context of the workplace and explores the influences, techniques and approaches that help individuals develop and sustain personal control and resilience at work.

Its emphasis is on the prevention of stress with individuals taking responsibility themselves to approach challenging situations with robust attitudes so they remain resilient and also grow their resilience further.

The workshop options are: six or three hour workshop or a one hour briefing.

Strengthening Personal Resilience Covers

The programme covers the following topics using discussion, theories and models of resilience and an extensive variety of activities and exercises to strengthen personal resilience:

  • What does resilience mean?
  • The process of being resilient.
  • What is my current level of resilience – an assessment questionnaire.
  • Why do I need to be resilient?
  • How to strengthen personal resilience by strengthening personal control over oneself, over responses to events and over responses to people.
  • Actions required to take this forward personally and professionally.

The learning outcomes from the programme are to:

  • Understand why personal resilience is important.
  • Understand the central characteristics of a resilient person.
  • Discover the degree of resilience that is already established in the individual.
  • Identify the threats and events of routine and exceptional daily working lives for which resilience is needed.
  • Understand how to strengthen personal resilience.
  • Understand how to embed the techniques and exercises into routine daily working lives.

Mind Matters offers the following workshops:

  • One hour Personal Resilience Awareness Workshop
  • Half day Strengthening Resilience Workshop
  • One day Strengthening Resilience Workshop

The courses can be tailored to suit the manager and staff roles.

A 5% discount is available to students, volunteers, third sector organisations, and bookings of more than one place (or course). Proof of concessionwill be required at point of booking.

Terms & Conditions

Please advise us in advance if the learner(s) has any special requirements that require reasonable adjustments to be made for the course to be accessible.

Where a course provides lunch and refreshments, this includes dietary requirements (open face-to-face courses only). We will endeavour to cater for all learner needs but we do require notification in advance.

Learners are required to arrive at the course in good time. If the learner is unable to attend on the day of training due to unforeseen circumstances, we will still apply a charge, as we still incur costs for the training provision, and will not be able to offer the place to another client.

Cancellations

Mind Matters reserves the right to cancel or alter the dates or provision of service, the venue (open face-to-face courses only), and the trainer providing the course. In the event of a cancellation, bookings will normally be transferred to the next available course unless the client specifically requests otherwise. As this is the case, we recommend you DO NOT book travel or accommodation until you receive our joining instructions (around 1-2 weeks before the start date), which confirms the training is going ahead.

If a booking is cancelled or transferred to a different course by the client, Mind Matters Training reserves the right to apply the following charges: Notice Given by Client % of course fee levied by Mind Matters

3‐7 days 50%

2 days or less 100%

Non‐attendance without notice 100%

Telephone cancellations can be accepted but must be confirmed immediately in writing (by email).

Payments

Please ensure that payment is received within 30 days of the invoice &/or before the training/event – whichever is sooner.
Training certificates will not be dispatched until full payment is received.

Lunch & Refreshments

For full day face-to-face open courses, lunch and refreshments are provided to learners. If your course is being delivered in-house, this is something you may wish to provide the learners at a cost to your organisation.

Please advise us in advance if delegate(s) have any special dietary requirements, any disabilities that would impact upon the course or any communication barriers that would impact upon the training course. We will endeavour to cater for everyone but we do require notification in advance.

Delegates are required to arrive at the course in good time. If the delegate is unable to attend on the day of training due to unforeseen circumstances we will still have to charge you as we still incur the costs and will not be able to sell the place to another client.
