Course Overview

Bereavement and Loss Workshop (half day)

We will all experience bereavement in our lifetimes and we will all experience loss and grief. There is misconception about the term “bereavement” which we can interpret as being a result of a death of a person. In essence, as well as the most devastating form of loss being the death of a close relationship, we can grieve the loss of a childhood, the loss of trust, the loss of a friendship, the loss of status, the loss of our innocence; the list goes on.Therapy, training, loss, bereavement, mental health, wellbeing, therapist

In this half day (online or face-to-face) course participants will gain a greater understanding of the process of loss, grief and bereavement and be able to normalise the process in their own lives and that of others. It will provide a broad basis of the various grief models, develop a compassionate approach to working with loss, provide an understanding of the normalising of grief as an ongoing concern, and consider the role and responsibilities of employers.
